OUR STORY

Sugar Rush Sweet Shop became a Florida State Certified Kitchen in 2011.  We are located in the rural area of Florida's panhandle in Graceville.

When I was young and still living at home, my mother always tried to make me help her cook.  Every time she mentioned cooking I would tell her I had to go cut the yards or do something outside.  I was raised on a 180 farm and my father and mother raised and grew all of our food.  Every year we would either can or freeze enough of meat, fruit, and vegetables to last until next year.  It wasn't until later in my life that I really began to enjoy cooking, canning, baking, and going to our local flea market and local stores to sell my products.  As time progressed, my daughter became interested in the business and is now in part of my company.  I have pecan trees, apple trees, and blackberry bushes in my yard, so when the fruits are ready for picking, I don't have to go very far to get them.

My products aren't mass produced.  They are made one or two batches at a time by either me or my daughter.  Once baked, they are cooled and immediately bagged to retain their freshness.  All products are baked to order and never have been frozen or stored up for any period of time.  I use the most fresh ingredients in all my products.  My shop isn't very big, as my mother-in-law would say it is a "three butt kitchen," but it sure makes it easy to keep clean.  I tell everyone that I won't sell anything that I would not eat myself.

My goal is to make people smile when they bite into my products and they would say, "Wow!  That was really good and I want more!"
